Jesus Became Poor for Us

Jesus Christ, the Word of God, through whom all creation came into being, was so rich and abundant! He is the heir to all existence, as everything was created through Him and for Him. Let’s reflect on this by reading a verse from 2 Corinthians 8:9, which says:
“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that through His poverty you might become rich.”

Jesus Christ, who was rich, the heir to all creation, took on human form and became poor. He even became homeless. He said, “The Son of Man has no place to lay His head.”

Jesus Christ became poor so that we, through His love and grace, could become rich, enabling us to have a right relationship with God and even become heirs to God’s love.

This is the Good News of the Gospel: Jesus Christ, who was rich, became poor for our sake so that through His poverty, we might become rich.
