The Sun Has Come
Inspired by Rumi’s analogy of the sun, we explain Jesus Christ as the ultimate revelation of God’s love and divinity. We celebrate His birth, highlighting how God’s grace, identity, and glory are fully displayed in Christ, the true Light of the world, bringing meaning and salvation to humanity.
How beautifully Rumi says: “The sun has come as the proof of the sun.”
The sun has come as the proof of the sun. We cannot look directly at the sun for a long time. Its light is so intense that it can harm human eyes. Yet, it is through the sun that we can see the entire world. Anyone who wants to see the sun first needs the sun itself.
Thus, Rumi rightly says: “The sun has come as the proof of the sun; if you need proof, do not turn away from it.”
When we think about God, we reflect on a God full of glory, power, grace, justice, and even wrath. But how can such a God be known? Who can claim to be full of knowledge of God? No human can achieve this on their own.
Rumi says the sun must come to prove the sun. Similarly, God must reveal Himself to us so that we can know Him.
When we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, it is precisely for this reason. In Jesus Christ, God revealed His love, grace, identity, glory, and mercy to us. The sun has come to be the proof of the sun.
The Word of God in Colossians 2:9 says:
“In Christ, all the fullness of deity lives in bodily form.” In Jesus Christ, we can truly and completely see divinity.
Rumi says: “The sun has come as the proof of the sun; if you need proof, do not turn away from it.”
So if you want to know who the true Sun and the Light of this world is, and if you want to understand the reason for your existence in the world, do not turn away from Jesus Christ. For in Christ, the fullness of divinity was completely revealed.
Jesus Christ is the true Light of the world who has revealed God’s love and glory to us. Merry Christmas to you!
