Why Did You Become a Christian?
A dear Afghan sister has asked us the reason why I have become a follower of Jesus. There is no one answer to this question, but a thousand reasons!

An Afghan sister has asked: "What made you become a follower of Jesus?"
Thank you, dear sister, for this very beautiful question. Your question seems very simple, but these kinds of questions have no single reason. They have thousands of reasons. For example, if someone asks you why being human is better than being an animal? Although the question seems very simple, it has thousands of answers. We and you have the power of thinking. We feel. We and you can see around us people who think, write, poetry. We and you (humans) have invented things that animals have not. So being human is better than being an animal for a thousand reasons. So when you ask why I have become a follower of Jesus Christ? I also have thousands of reasons why I am a follower of Jesus Christ.
I'll just tell you two or three things. First, I became a follower of Jesus Christ because the Gospel is the truth. When we read the Word of God in the Gospel, we see that indeed all the teachings of Jesus Christ invite us to worship God and to pursue the truth of God. I am not saying that we are religious, but that we can live in true religiosity, in real love for God. Second, in the Gospel, God promises us that when we believe in Jesus Christ, He sends His Spirit to empower us to have a holy life, a life that is like the Lord. For example, the Lord is forgiving, and through the Spirit of God, we can truly forgive others. The Lord is full of love; so the Lord empowers us to love others through His Spirit. So we can have a life that becomes a source of goodness for others, to love God and love others.
Three, when you see the character of Jesus, you truly fall in love with Him. When you see His love, you fall in love with him. Look at His teachings; so in Jesus Christ, there are thousands, thousands, thousands of goodness that I have not seen in anyone else, in any other philosophy, in all human history. Therefore, I am not only a follower of Jesus Christ but also love him with all my soul.
